Presentation box for the fifth of six in The Macallan in Lalique series, a limited release of some of the rarest Macallan whisky available, in a custom made Lalique crystal decanter. The fifth edition is The Spiritual Home, and design of the decanter is based on the date stone of Easter Elchies House, the home of The Macallan. The decanter looks like an archaeological discovery, so we started there. Part Indiana Jones, part Space Odyssey. The box is made of Corian, a high density plastic with mineral content that feels like stone. It is jointed without seams, appearing like a solid block. Inside, the decanter lies flat on museum grade handmade Japanese linen. A book is concealed in a drawer beneath.
