Wing Gallery

Window installation for Tulipmania, an exhibition focused on the 17th century Dutch tulip trade. The first recorded economic bubble, at the peak of tulipmania some single tulip bulbs sold for more than ten times the annual income of a skilled craftsman, before the market suddenly collapsed.

Our attempt to explore this hysteria and obsession, (by creating a giant, floating, manic, red eye using three thousand tulip petals) achieved it’s aim before even leaving the studio. Making it drove everybody mad.
