Bill Amberg is a luxury leather goods designer with an architectural interiors practice, (leather floors, walls etc). As part of a larger brand re-appraisal we needed devise a way to distinguish Amberg’s leather samples both from each other, and from the competition. Most customers could not identify what type of leather they were handling, and some unscrupulous suppliers would swap Bill’s sample swatches for cheaper materials, (one leather square looks much like another to the untrained eye). So, we cut each sample out in the shape of the animal it came from (goat, pig, snake etc). It’s informative, engaging, and makes them very difficult to copy.
